Irene Freidel ​​​​

Irene C. Freidel, Esq. is the Detention Program Manager and a senior staff attorney at PAIR, specializing in detention, removal defense, and federal court practice. Irene has served as a PAIR Detention Program Fellow and Access to Justice Fellow, where she worked to represent immigrants in ICE detention. Prior to joining PAIR, Irene practiced law at K&L Gates LLP in Boston, from 1991 through June 2017. She has over twenty-five years of experience as a high-level complex commercial litigator. While at K&L Gates, Irene represented clients in federal and state courts throughout the country, handled appeals in the First, Fourth, Seventh, Ninth, and Eleventh Circuits, as well as in various state appellate courts. Irene is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where she received her B.A. in anthropology. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Irene joined PAIR in 2017.
